Entrepreneurs launch Elite in the Cloud

A new online community has launched aimed at agency owners looking to grow their business.

Elite in the Cloud, which brings together a virtual forum of experienced recruitment industry heavyweights such as entrepreneurs John O’Sullivan and Graham Palfery-Smith, former S3 chief executive Russell Clements and APSCo’s Ann Swain, aims to have 2,000 members over the next 18 months.

The forum is subscription-based, and aims to provide agency owners with access to a broad range of information and expertise – among the tools available on the site are downloadable legal documents, live webinars, market data analysis and training downloads in leadership skills. There will also be an Elite buying club, which operates like the group-buying site Groupon, where members can get discounts on services such as legal advice and training.

Those who join will also gain membership of APSCo as part of Elite in the Cloud membership, and gain access to the forum’s rec-2-rec service ‘Talent Pool’, where they can be introduced to potential new recruits for their business.

The community is a joint venture between learning consultancy Innergy and networking group Elite Leaders, which brings together groups of recruitment owners and business leaders once a month to share best practice, learn from business experts and listen to talks on relevant topics.

“The reason we built Elite in the Cloud was to raise the profile of the recruitment sector. One of the ways we can do that is to enable recruitment agency owners focus on their core, day-to-day activity – that is, recruiting and managing their staff – and we’ll take the rest off their hands,” explains James Osborne, Innergy’s managing director and one of the founders of Elite in the Cloud.

He adds: “Recruitment organisations that want to see high growth need to have the tools. They need market data, and senior-level support to take the business to the next level. Some of the best learning you can get is from peers who have been there and done it, or experts who know the market well.”

Osborne hopes that membership of the club will help to enhance the reputation of agencies and give them an edge over their peers in terms of market knowledge.
