November saw the highest number of manufacturing jobs advertised this year, according to figures released by recruitment software provider, Recruitive.
Despite a decline in the overall number of jobs advertised in November, Recruitive says manufacturing jobs bucked the trend and rose by almost 17%.
These figures support the findings of the Markit/CIPS Purchasing Managers Index report, which revealed further solid expansions of output, new orders and employment within the manufacturing sector.
Growth in the index reading, to a four-month high of 53.5, followed solid domestic demand which offset weaker orders from overseas markets (a figure above 50 indicates a growing sector).
Richard Clarke, managing director at Recruitive said: “The UK manufacturing market still has a long way to go before it reaches its pre-recession levels, however it is obviously heading in the right direction with 21 consecutive months of continuous growth under its belt.
“According to our data, manufacturing wasn’t the only industry to receive a November boom in terms of the number of jobs advertised.
“The nursing sector experienced a huge 35% growth and engineering rose by 12.12%.”
