Graham Oates, a former senior partner at KPMG, has joined Norrie Johnston Recruitment (NJR) as a director.
Formed in 2013 by e-recruitment pioneer, Norrie Johnston, the firm specialises in senior level, permanent and interim recruitment.
Oates, who has also purchased a 10% stake in NJR, will fulfill a leadership role in the development of the company’s service offerings to technology and international clients.
Norrie Johnston said: “Graham has a tremendous track record building multi-million pound businesses. These ventures grew quickly because they offered something discernibly different to the corporate community they served and they were focused on service. That’s our stated vision for NJR. So to have Graham not just on the board, but also investing in NJR shows that our vision of creating a genuinely different kind of recruitment business has real substance.”
Oates was a senior partner at KPMG for 14 years. He has also been chair of the Insolvency Service and executive chair of Tribute, the rail ticketing software business.
He said of his latest role: “I was excited to join Norrie Johnston for two main reasons: the quality of the people and the values of the organisation. The team really knows the recruitment sector, and the firm is completely focused on providing a high-quality, tailored service. I have worked in professional services for over 30 years and I know that these factors are critical to success.”
