Award shortlist for recruitment entrepreneur

Recruiter Betsy Williamson has been shortlisted for the ‘Female Entrepreneur of the Year’ award at this year’s forthcoming Scottish Business Awards.

Managing director of Core-Asset Consulting, Williamson (pictured) has been recommended by the judging panel on the basis of her ‘inspiring leadership of Scotland’s leading independently-owned recruitment business’.

Criteria for the award nomination also included evidence of growth and success, improved market share, customer satisfaction, and a successful launch or continued programme of product or service development.

Louise Powrie, director of financial services at Core-Asset Consulting, said: “I’ve had the pleasure to work with Betsy for the last fourteen years. Throughout that time she’s always been an inspirational figure, a driven individual whose strategic abilities are matched only by her obsessive attention to detail.

“When she set up Core-Asset Consulting in 2005 there was never any question that the business would be anything other than a success. When Betsy sets her mind to something, she achieves it. Core-Asset is in many ways the corporate embodiment of Betsy’s own personal qualities – professional, highly knowledgeable and people-driven. This nomination is fitting recognition of her achievements to date.”

Williamson added: “It’s always flattering to receive personal recognition, but this nomination should really apply to the whole team at Core-Asset. Having a vision of a business you want to build is one thing, but you need the support and hard work of others to achieve it.”
