Recruitment apprenticeship has launched

February 28, 2013  /   No Comments

Jo Faragher

A consortium comprising the Institute of Recruiters (IOR), awarding body Skillsfirst Awards and training provider Expedient launched the first dedicated apprenticeship for the recruitment industry at the start of this month.

The apprenticeship has already gained the support of recruitment expert and CEO of Hamilton Bradshaw James Caan. The aim is to provide a standardised route into the profession – or a way of upskilling existing staff – through an externally recognised qualifications framework.

The components of the apprenticeship will include assessing candidates, coaching and supporting them, building relationships with clients and understanding how to market job roles effectively.

James Caan, who heads the IOR’s expert panel, added: “For Britain to have a nationally-recognised recruitment qualification for the first time is great news for our industry.  A recruitment apprenticeship will have a positive impact on both job creation and the UK economy.”
