Express Rail Services, the specialist rail recruitment agency acquired by Berry Recruitment Group, has won a major contract to supply temporary workers and permanent recruitment services to the Go-Ahead Group.
Manager Justin Ayling (left) said the Go-Ahead contract could be worth millions of pounds a year.
Express Rail Services will be providing staff for many roles, including crowd management, security, customer services and station workers as well as on-train and rail depot staff.
The agency is one of just four recruiters across the continent that was chosen for this part of the multi-million pounds tender.
Ayling, who formed Express Rail Services in 2003, said that being part of Berry Recruitment Group helped to seal the deal.
“The group’s nationwide network and wider recruiting expertise meant we were able to go up against some of the major names in recruitment – and win,” he said. “We have ten staff at our central London offices and this contract means we are likely to be taking on more recruitment consultants.”
Spencer Berry, Business Development Director of BRG, said: “Acquiring Express Rail Services gave us another presence in the capital and also a new sector in which to operate.”
“We always felt that the expertise of Justin and his team combined with our resources would lead to success and this contract win has proven that.”
The contract, which is for a minimum of three years, means Express Rail Services will provide temporary, permanent, interim and fixed term staff across hundreds of sites throughout the UK.
