Interim management recruiter, Odgers Interim, has strengthened its local government practice with the appointment of Lenny Michael.
He joins as a consultant, where he will place interim executives to help implement new strategies and oversee change in the local government sector.
Commenting on his new appointment, Michael said: “Local authorities are now under increasing pressure to sustain the delivery of vital services by adopting a more commercialised approach.
“This will mean investing in permanent senior placements as well as project-based interim executives who can provide the support and skill set required to implement this new approach. I look forward to working with key stakeholders to help place interim executives that can offer the guidance that they need.”
Michael brings 10 years of experience in executive recruitment. He previously worked for Manpower Professional, Whitepeak Finance and most recently as a manager at Hydrogen Group. Throughout his career Michael has worked with a host of blue chip clients, including PwC, EY, Tesco, Sky, Royal Bank of Scotland, SABMiller, Barclays and HSBC.
Bambos Eracleous, partner at Odgers Interim, said: “The local government delivery model is rapidly changing. It’s no surprise then that there is increased demand for interims in this sector. Councils are recognising that they need experienced professionals who can provide leadership and expertise in this period of change.”
He added: “Lenny Michael has all of the skills and experience we need to further strengthen our local government practice and he will play a key role in delivering the interim recruitment solutions that our clients need.”
