Expansion for Grays Executive Search

New search and selection consultancy, Grays Executive Search has opened a second office in Birmingham and launched an executive interim search division.

This announcement comes three months after the firm first opened its doors in Kings Cross, London.

The consultancy has doubled its team to six specialist consultants who will work between London and Birmingham, and the company plans to open a third office in Manchester later in the year.

Grays Executive Search, part of Cordant Recruitment, specialises in senior and board level recruitment across a range of sectors.

Phillip Machell (pictured) will be based at the new Birmingham office as managing director of Grays Executive Interim division. He has 22 years’ experience in senior level recruitment, and as executive director at Michael Page for four years, worked under Simon Bell, now group managing director for Grays Executive. Machell has also been managing director for a leading recruiter in the manufacturing and rail sector, and has had considerable experience in the interim automotive industry.

“Birmingham was the natural next step to grow the business,” said Machell. “It’s a global centre for business, commerce and industry, and is home to the UK’s largest manufacturing and engineering centre so it fits the diverse range of sectors that we recruit across.”

Simon Bell added: “Expanding into the interim market was an obvious move for us. It has been part of our growth strategy, however we’ve brought the launch forward to support our clients’ needs and Phillip is the perfect person to head up this division. His boundless innovation and his breadth of experience is a winning formula for building businesses from scratch.”
