Varney to head up National Locums nursing division

Following significant growth in the company’s nursing division, Milton Keynes-based medical recruiter National Locums has appointed Sam Varney as Nursing Sales Manager.

Sam has been promoted from his role on the company’s client account team, and has more than 10 years’ experience in medical recruitment and pharmaceuticals.

Launched less than two years ago, National Locums Nursing has almost 3000 qualified nurses on its books, and has increased bookings by more than 65% in the past year. The division has also won Framework (preferred supplier) status with Crown Commercial Services and HealthTrust Europe, which provides nurses for NHS hospitals throughout the UK.

In addition, National Locums Nursing has been awarded the top Platinum rating in the independent audit of standards carried out on behalf of the NHS, which includes checks on nurses’ professional compliance, qualifications, training and employment history.

As well as supplying nurses to the NHS, the division will also focus on winning new clients in allied sectors, including prisons, the mental health sector and independent and private providers.
