New senior promotions at Macildowie

Midlands-based recruitment consultancy Macildowie has announced two senior promotions, with James Taylor moving to the role of Managing Director and Ian Machell to Director of Sales Operations.

James Taylor, who has been with Macildowie since 1997, is moving from the role of Director of Customer Development and Marketing and will now take the lead in delivering the business strategy entitled ‘Building Great Futures’.

James has been instrumental in the growth of the business, leading the way in its expansion into new sectors including sales and marketing, and procurement and supply chain. He also pioneered its award-winning LinkedIn workshops for business owners who want to utilise social media to attract new talented individuals – a service which was recently recognised in the prestigious Recruiter Awards, achieving Highly Commended under the Best Client Service category.

James commented: “I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved at Macildowie. As Managing Director, I now have the ultimate responsibility to deliver our strategy for growth, with particular focus on aligning everyone within the business to the same goal and consistently ensuring Macildowie is a great place to work.”

Ian Machell, who joined Macildowie as Operations Director in January, has been promoted to Director of Sales Operations. As an experienced sales leader in both permanent and temporary recruitment across a multitude of specialist sectors, Ian is recognised for the hugely positive impact he has made to the business since his joining at the start of the year.

Ian said: “I am genuinely delighted to be taking up this role at the number one professional services recruiter in the Midlands. My focus will now be on ensuring we are attracting and retaining the right people to Macildowie in order to keep outstanding levels of client service.

“We also aim to fill an even higher proportion of our clients’ vacancies by ensuring that we continue to innovate and be ahead of the game when it comes to candidate attraction.”
