Global specialist recruiter McGregor Boyall has opened a new office in Manchester.
The company has already enjoyed a significant amount of business in the North West over a number of years from its City and Edinburgh bases.
According to Managing Director Laurie Boyall, this means that they can leverage some very strong client relationships in the North West.
He said: “We are now reaping the benefits of our diversification strategy which began in 2012, when we invested in new offices in Dubai, Singapore and Edinburgh, attracted new hires from Hudson, Huxley, Robert Half and Aston Carter and also saw the expansion our Commerce and Industry division.
“This is now really impacting positively on our bottom line and our decision to open in Manchester is a reflection of a growing client base in the region.”
He added that the North West is attracting a great deal of foreign investment – for example from Abu Dhabi into the regeneration of East Manchester, while Liverpool is pitching aggressively to Chinese investors.
Rob Riley is a new hire who will manage the new office and who is well networked in the Manchester area. He joins from Hudson and has over 12 years’ experience in recruitment, mainly in the technology sector.
Boyall added: “The plan is to grow the office to around five people in the first six months – and while technology remains a lynchpin of the business, we’re finding that if we are recruiting technology professionals into an energy company, for example, they are asking if we can cover other areas as well.”
“So we’d expect to be diversifying the mix to replicate our other offices in the not too distant future to include disciplines such as HR, Marketing and Procurement and Supply Chain.”
