Catalyst Advisors has appointed Simon Bartholomew as a partner and executive recruiter to help lead the expansion of the company’s business in Europe.
Bartholomew brings three decades of experience conducting CEO, board-level and senior operating executive searches for companies in healthcare, industrial and consumer sectors, from venture-backed enterprises to global corporations.
Earlier in his career, Bartholomew was a managing director in the London office of a major global search firm, where he led the UK board practice and worked alongside John Archer, who went on to found Catalyst Advisors in 2008.
Before that, Bartholomew led the management assessment practice of another search firm, which he grew to a team of 20. Prior to joining Catalyst, he was a member of The Miles Partnership, a UK-based search firm focused on senior-level assignments.
“Having worked with Simon for many years, I know the status he has achieved as a trusted advisor to boards and CEOs in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe,” said John Archer. “Simon helps us significantly expand our ability to provide the senior-level attention, depth of experience and breadth of knowledge that our clients both expect and appreciate.”
“In today’s economy, the right executive for a key spot might be in another country or another industry,” said Bartholomew. “I’ve spent my career helping clients cross borders and silos in their pursuit of the best talent, and I believe that Catalyst Advisors’ strong track record in the United States provides an ideal platform that we can successfully leverage to best serve clients in Europe.”
Before entering the executive search industry, Bartholomew worked at AstraZeneca and as a management consultant at Bain & Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nottingham and a doctorate from Cambridge University.
