Interim management and executive recruitment company Executive Online has appointed a new director for its retail practice.

Graham Thomson (pictured) will be working from the London office, and will be responsible for developing and delivering interim management recruitment for clients. He brings more than 13 years’ experience of placing senior interim executives in retail to the company.

Thomson began his career in 2000 at PSD Group recruiting interim managers in the retail and consumer sector and was promoted to associate director in 2008. He then moved to Wilton & Bain in 2012 as an associate partner in retail and consumer.

Throughout his career Thomson has provided teams of specialised interim programme and interim project managers for complex integration and delivery programmes, together with high-calibre shortlists for interim management requirements in the UK and overseas.

Executives Online’s clients in the retail sector include leading retailers such as Animal, Debenhams, Hamleys, Hotel Chocolat, Jack Wills and John Lewis.

“I joined Executives Online because it is a forward-thinking, professional company that is well known for providing a high-quality service to clients,” Thomson said. “The retail market is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Now it has the added challenge of the impact of the growth in e-commerce and our role in finding the right people for our clients’ across the globe is more important than ever.”

James O’Brien, managing director at Executives Online, added: “Our business success is down to our people, which is why we invest in attracting the very best specialist recruiters to our team.  Their hands-on industry expertise is enabled by a unique combination of talent acquisition techniques, coupled with our Global Talent Bank, which allows them to identify suitable candidates quickly and efficiently, to meet our customers’ needs.”
