The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has launched a networking group for recruitment firms specialising in finance and legal services.
The launch is part of the REC’s new initiative to help shape the professional body’s campaigning activity in these areas.
The forum aims to help recruitment businesses keep up-to-date with industry trends, hear from industry and recruitment experts, share good practice, network with peers and help shape the REC’s policy responses to key issues affecting business.
The new finance and legal sector group will meet at the REC’s offices in London to discuss challenges and trends affecting these fields. Matters for discussion include the analysis on the current job market, the future of the economy, immigration, a legal update including IR35 and gender pay gap reporting and an update on relevant policy development.
Kate Shoesmith, REC Head of Policy, said: “The REC sector groups bring together recruiters with a common interest to share knowledge, hear from experts, network and help shape the REC’s policy responses to key issues affecting the industry.
“Ongoing political and economic uncertainty makes this the right time to provide specialist support for our members operating in finance and legal so they can make the most of the opportunities on offer and continue to thrive.”
Chris Croucher, Managing Director of AMC Insurance Appointments Ltd, commented: “Brexit throws up a raft of issues for recruitment businesses operating in the financial and legal sectors which we are all still getting our heads around.
“The ongoing quest for diversity, corporate governance reform and the impact of technology on these sectors are also hot topics. I’m looking forward to tackling these issues through this sector group and helping to shape the REC’s influencing and campaigning priorities over the coming months.”
