Oliver James Associates to open New York office

Specialist financial services recruiter Oliver James Associates is to open a new office in New York City later this year.

The new operation is part of the firm’s planned international expansion strategy, which has already seen launches into Hong Kong and Amsterdam, and will see further international office openings over the next three years.

The New York team will initially specialise in actuarial recruitment, which is Oliver James’ most established, successful and largest segment of business, and is where the company has long standing relationships with many of the insurance and financial services businesses it is looking to partner with in the US.

A team of four existing actuarial specialists from the firm’s UK offices will be relocating to run the office, with future appointments likely to come from New York-based talent. They will initially focus on life, healthcare and P&C actuarial markets.

Oliver Castle, director of strategic development, said: “Opening a New York office has long been part of our international expansion plan and we are excited to be bringing our specialist knowledge and expertise to a new continent.”
