Bishop makes move at Encore

Rapidly-expanding recruitment firm Encore Personnel has appointed growth capital specialist Richard Bishop as Non-Executive Director.

Richard, who was one of the leading founders of the UK’s leading growth capital organisation Business Growth Fund, will support Encore’s MD Greg Latham and the senior team as it plans an ambitious expansion and an increase in market share over the next 12 months.

Leicester-based Richard has a 25-year experience with growing entrepreneurial companies as a private equity and growth capital investor. He was a partner at 3i Group plc, the leading international investment management organisation, where he headed a 2.5 billion Euro portfolio. Richard moved on to launch the Business Growth Fund, where he was Head of Investments, responsible for the UK wide investment strategy and leading the investment teams.

Richard said: “This is a new and exciting challenge. Encore is a business with a strong strategy for growth, impressive clients and a robust focus. I am excited by businesses which want to grow and become more successful – and Encore is one of them.”

Named by Recruiter magazine as one of the UK’s fastest growing recruitment businesses, Encore recently announced it is to open a tenth office in Derby. It already operates from nine offices across the country – Nottingham, Telford, Slough, Spalding, Leicester, Coventry, Leeds, Northampton and Birmingham. Specialising in the industrial, technical, transport and energy recruitment sectors, it places more than 3500 temporary and permanent workers every week across the UK.
