Scottish recruitment specialists the Brightwork Group have recently signed-up as a charity partner with the Scottish Centre for Children with Motor Impairments, based in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, Scotland.
From its headquarters at the Craighalbert Centre in Cumbernauld, the Scottish Centre for Children with Motor Impairments provides education, therapy and support to children and their families who suffer from conditions including cerebral palsy and similar conditions that cause motor impairments.
Shan Saba, Director at Brightwork, said: “The Scottish Centre for Children with Motor Impairments does an outstanding job in looking after, educating and developing children with a variety of neurological impairment, principally cerebral palsy, while also providing vital support to their parents. As a company with a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility we are humbled to have the opportunity to assist them, by fund-raising and organising events amongst our 66 employees which will help make the children and young people’s lives just a little better.”
Anne Taylor, Administration Officer for the charity, said: “We asked Brightwork to source staff to assist our onsite catering facility and were visited a couple of months ago by two of its recruitment consultants to assess our requirements with a view to seeking out our new staff member. When we showed the Brightwork consultants our facility and explained about our work, they were so impressed they suggested they should ask their colleagues to nominate us as their charity partner for 2016–17.
“While we are grant-funded by the Scottish Government we need, nevertheless, to raise in excess of £300,000 a year just to maintain the current services we provide to young people and their parents, so support from Brightwork means a great deal.”
The Brightwork Group was established in 2006. Since then it has established itself as a major recruiter for the health and social care field, as well as other industries such as catering and construction. In October 2015, the Brightwork Group became the first business in the Scottish recruitment sector to become a Recognised Living Wage Service Provider.
