The relocation has given the branch more footfall and has also assisted the local authority in revitalising part of the town centre. It has helped progress a key part of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council’s investment programme to redevelop and attract shoppers to the town’s eastern entrance.

Berry Recruitment specialises in the ‘driving’, ‘industrial’, ‘office’ and ‘construction’ sectors. Now six-staff strong, the branch has seen rapid growth and considers its new location to be the optimum location in the town.

Debbie Dowling, Berry’s Regional Director, said: “The offices are not far from our old ones, but are much bigger and we get far more people passing. Since the move, we have taken on three new members of staff and that also reflects a good local economy.

“The move has suited us and the council and we believe it is the start of a transformation of this part of the town centre.

“We are an ambitious business and hope to expand further. We welcome all enquiries from those looking for work and, indeed, those looking for staff.”

Cllr Roger Trigg, Executive Member for Governance, Community Safety, Police and Crime Commissioner and Corporate Property, said: “I’m really pleased to see a successful town centre business benefiting from a new White Lion Square location and wish Berry the best of luck in their new home.

“The positive change our investment programme continues to deliver is attracting new retailers, helping business thrive and offering visitors a more vibrant shopping experience.”

Berry Recruitment has more than 30 branches across England and Wales and anticipates a turnover of over £70m this year.
